This remedy process will be painful. I hope we get over this soon. But looks like this will drag, how long is uncertain considering MSFT is now saying it will request a hearing.

Ballmer's smart enough to know that within a year the entire market is going to tank, and that options re-struck at 66 will be far underwater when that happens... so it's kind of a way of placating the troops without them knowing it (the lower strike price) won't really matter.

Go over to the Clowns thread and see the discussion of how the creditors (including the federal reserve) are creating money out of thin air and feeding it into the bubble in an effort to keep it inflated. This will fail sooner or later, and my guess is that it will be within a year. They may keep it pumped up to increase Gore's election chances, but after that I'm sure it will tank.

MSFT will not escape the stock market damage that is yet to come; I think Ballmer's smart enough to see this and he knows MSFT's bottom line won't be changed much, if at all by lowering everyone's strike price (from last july only... what about options given out before/after?) to 66.

Does anyone here really believe that, with regard to this massive credit bubble, that "it's really different this time?" I say, "NO."

The sheep will be fleeced. Some things never change.

got gold? HO HO HO <g>
