Dear David R:

Based of the conversation overheard at justice today,
I will double my already massive position in MSFT the day
the doj anounces its remedy.

jj: Well, janet, the time is now. We've got to stick it to
them or we'll just look like baboons...

janet: I know jj. I told klein, nothing short of a brake-
up will do. I'd like to make a soprano out of
Ballsmer... Don't worry about appellate, billy is
already making some calls

jj: I'll support the split-up, but this has got to be iron
clad. If I get overturned, I'm toast...I'll be washed
up, history...

to be continued

I think the only major impact would be the introduction of an OEM version of Microsoft Office. Today, you can buy Windows 98 OEM, Corel WordPerfect 8 OEM and Corel Draw 7 OEM for only $130 altogether. Corel Office OEM is $18 at zitech.dk and Microsoft Office (Danish) is more than $600, and Microsoft Office UK is more than $700. No VAT or other taxes included.

An interesting move I have seen is that some computer retailers have stopped to include a Windows license in their PC configurations. I also noted, that Dell Denmark (http://www.dell.dk/) does not give the user the choice to use Windows 2000 on their desktop computers. Compaq also doesn't have the choice of Windows 2000 on their Danish web-site compaq.com, but Dell at least offers Windows NT 4.0, and both danish and english version. Compaq is the biggest PC vendor in Denmark, and Dell is one of the biggest.
