Tks Bosco for the heads up. I buy Value High-Techs (even if it sounds oxymoron) in the small to mid-cap area in high-growth sectors (wireless, broadband, GPS, OSS network mgmt software, e-commerce, network infrastructure, etc.).

It's hard to find them but they are out there and yes, they will & have been slapped around but I am a real long-term buy & hold guy so I don't care what happens to the price in the next year or two........in most cases I am prepared to wait it out for double, triple, or even the odd 10 baggers over the next 5 years as this is my retirement/play money and I have not turned 40 yet.

The trick is to get into these value high-tech plays when they are REALLY down & out and out-of-favour without buying a totally dead horse. Takes lots of analysis, searching, risk-taking and ultimately luck but if I succeed the payoff is enormous. By the way, I bought ALN based on your post and although it hasn't done anything yet, like most Value high-tech stocks, it has really held up well in the recent downturn.

Any additional stocks you recommend, I will run through my analysis and give you my two cents worth!
