Just a thought ...

Since all empires decline and become irrelevant eventually, could this be the inflection point for a change in the current U.S. world leadership? History provides many examples of world powers self-destructing. Why believe the U.S. to be exempt?

I'm not saying that the existence of the U.S. depends on Microsoft. It depends on the strength, ability, industry, and cohesiveness of the U.S. people, among other things. Weaken these, and you weaken the nation.
