i keep them. i try to time entry and exit in index puts to the best of my ability, but they are after all a hedge against surprise downside developments, so i always carry some along, regardless of my ST market view.

being a great company doesn't preclude one's stock from entering a bear market, as past bear markets have shown, and as many excellent cos that are already in one attest to.
