You need to consider the channel width when talking clock speeds to get apples to apples comparisons.

IMO, one of the key's to Groves success was his paranoia. I think Intel once taught a course in "Constructive Confrontation." (Maybe Tench can tell us if they still teach that course to management?)
Andy was as interested in the "cons" as the "pros." He solicited inputs from every view when making decisions. I don't think he particularly liked people who only painted rosy scenarios. Some of that culture would be beneficial to any SI thread.
