The point of my question is why wait? How cheap do you really think they can get?

I upgraded my box to 733 mhz 256 MB ram of 133 SDRAM for $1100.

BTW, I also noticed adding a newer faster hard drive made more of a difference than did anything else LOL!!!

If AMD's new processors are performance competitive with Intel (and my guess is that they will be), Intel will ignite a price war that will scorch the earth from Oregon to
Maine and British Columbia to Baja California.


There has been little indication so far that Intel will be able to keep up with AMD clock rates. AMD can set the prices now.
