I wonder if the discussions between EMC and BRCD forced QLogic's hand with Ancor, or whether ANCOR went to QLogic when it realized it needed help? The market response seems to suggest QLogic now has a broader package than BRCD, according to Reuters this morning. With the reported discussions on interoperability now coordinated by ANCR(Gadzoox, etc) we may be moving into an end-game standards setting environment. I'll be curious to see if BRCD and EMC clearly state the decision to use both switches in EMC's standards, or if EMC steps back for a bit.
