Eddy: what is the general feeling of the people in Germany regarding the problem with the Euro? Is there much of a sense of outrage or betrayal? It would seem to me that Germany, in particular, is getting the worst of the deal with the Euro's decline; I'm interested to see how important it has become to the average person living there. Thanks.

Ed, i think the Eurocrats honestly believe their competitive devaluation scheme is somehow a good thing. their calculation is probably that it will help them avoid the tough structural reforms a strong currency would demand.
like you say, it's beginning to look like a full-blown currency crisis:
