Digital Media Leader Establish Office in Santa Monica to Better Meet the Needs of Film Studios and Record Labels

SEATTLE, April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Loudeye Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: LOUD), originally encoding.com, a leading provider of digital media solutions that unleash the power of audio and video on the Internet, today announced the opening of a digital media center in Santa Monica, CA, localizing the Company's services, applications and consulting for its Southern California customers. Loudeye's addition of its Santa Monica digital media center is the next step in the national and international expansion that now includes nearly 300 employees in its Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, New York, San Francisco and London offices.

The Santa Monica digital media center will have capabilities for all aspects of Loudeye's digital media solutions -- from sales and marketing to production and consulting. The office is home to a complete digital media production center offering the same high quality digital media encoding services on which Loudeye was founded. Additionally, the center includes a staff for its consulting services, reflecting the ability of Loudeye's Santa Monica location to meet the full gamut of audio and video demands of the media, entertainment and corporate industries.

The same experienced team who developed Loudeye's industry leading Seattle digital media center built the California production systems. Addressing the needs of major media and entertainment companies in Southern California, the Santa Monica production center specializes in feature-length films, movie trailers, TV commercials and promotions. The new digital media center replicates Loudeye's proven processes and expertise in encoding traditional content, including SVHS, beta, 3/4 inch, digi beta, DAT and others, into high quality digital media formats, such as MPEG1, MPEG2, QuickTime, Real and Windows Media, at any bit rate for distribution on the Internet.

"We have numerous customers in Southern California, particularly from the media and entertainment industries, who will benefit from our digital media center," said Martin Tobias, minister of order and reason, founder and CEO, Loudeye Technologies Inc. "When building the Santa Monica digital media center, we mirrored our industry leading Seattle facility by using best of breed technologies and implementing proven processes, maintaining our reputation as the highest quality, scalable, and high volume digital media production lab in the industry."

Loudeye's Santa Monica office is located at 1424 2nd St., Suite 200, Santa Monica, California.
