ot- that sounds like it could get pretty serious, JDN.

who knows? some day it could escalate to the point where we may need a national czar to combat cheating.

can you imagine that? a national cheat czar, to sit next to the national drug czar.

next, we could see a march on the nation's capital by freaky geek kids and sympathetic substitute teachers, all wearing t-shirts with crip sheets emblazoned on them.

a bill submitted in the house, calling for the legalization of cheating, backed up with price performance metrics reflecting the costs of surveillance and interdiction.

could you imagine that? i can

OT: My wife is a professor at a very good business school at a Big Ten university (business law dept). She says that several studies indicate that plagiarism is highest in business schools and that it has reached epidemic proportions. Yes, there is a service for profs to catch cheating, especially since those who cheat are usually not very savvy about it compared to those whom they are trying to cheat. Moreover, she has caught several people by using Lexis. She turns to Lexis when she finds kids who couldn't spot a sentence fragment on a bet turning in law review quality research. She also did a visiting professorship at Wharton a few years ago. They have at least as bad a problem there as we do here with their students.

I'll be patient with GBLX, but they have made a few decisions that have given me cause for concern, but I think those decisions have been sufficiently thrashed about on the board. I am not sure any additional postings by me would add much value.
