Hi Pat! From Smart Money. :)Leigh

"Even so, the latest market research figures suggest Compaq still has work to do. The numbers, released this week, show that while Compaq remains the worldwide leader in market share, its competitor Dell - known for efficiently selling PCs directly to customers - is hanging onto its dominance of the U.S. market. Dell commands 17% of domestic sales, while Compaq trails at 16%, according to Dataquest and International Data."

Patrick,
Hi!!

RE: Kemble, Dell stock is reacting well to Compaq earnings.

gritch.isld.com

CPQ's comments concerning the last month has me considering a possible "variation" in the exchange of months that IDC and Dataquest usually don't hold for us...Is Y2K really a trump for DELL that would actually have a unique bearing for this particular situation?
And, what % exchange has DELL moved into more servers than usual? That is...What sort of ratio change since last quarter knowing that the push is into servers ...coupling this with the knowledge that CPQ has given us of the last month...
Could prove to be an interesting number and CC....

Best, Kemble

Damit Pat, I am down $78.75 for the day. A tragic, senceless and unnecessary loss because Dell is reading zero and if I had the branes I used to have I would be 100% in Dell and no loss. But I have changed my errant ways and am back up way over 50% Dell again. Sig (do you think Kemble will give me another T-shirt in July?-I like T shirts)
