Julie, COMPX waves. . . that is the turbulence from the divergence from the Dow. . .they get so used to tracking one another. . . yet today we are seeing them pulling away from one another. . . then slipping back into old habits. . .then pulling further away. . . . . the initial stages of divergence are awkward. . . .like moving across town. . . only to find yourself forgetting and heading the wrong way to go home.

Today the Nasdaq is conflicted. . .

Momentum players have mostly placed their bets for the day. . . but long-term investors are mixed between the potential of the Nasdaq tech stocks. . . and the safety of the Dow Value plays.

They could use a market-psycho-therapist.

While we have calmed some. . . check this out. . .

biz.yahoo.com

Liberty Digital is rapidly becoming an important fixture in the digital music / movie industry. . .like a mutual fund. . . .and it should grow in importance as bandwidth expands.

Look at the news. . .all the acquisitions and equity purchased. Also, have you seen the SonicNet ads on TV? SonicNet is MTV / VH1 . . and owned by VIA and LDIG. LDIG also owns DMX, the worlds largest distributor of music to commercial facilities. . .

Now consider LDIG's parent company. . . A.T. & T. Corp's Liberty Media [LMG.a]. . . [splitting 2-for-1 early June]. . . I would love to see a list of the dozens of companies owned by LMG.a. . . it would read like a who's who in movie production and interactive media.

Scan the news for acquisitions on LMGa from Yahoo. . biz.yahoo.com biz.yahoo.com

The funny thing is LMG.a doesn't release press releases on EVERY acquisition. I read about post-production houses in the movie business being bought by Liberty Media all the time. . . that never hit Yahoo. In fact, Liberty Media is now the world's largest holder of post-production facilities for movies and video. I wonder what else they have been quietly buying behind the scenes.

Do not underestimate the revenue stream that could develop when A.T. & T. rolls out their set-top boxes for use with digital cable. . . .not to mention their wireless broadband systems and services. One day in the near-future. . . you will be paying per viewing of movies and music. . .like a video store in your home. . . start and stop the show or sounds whenever you wish. . . back it up. . .slow it down. . .and pay for only what you watch or hear. . . .in a similar way as we use long-distance services.

The Sixth Sense would show up on your phone bill. [whisper out loud] "They're everywhere!"
