Thank You For Your Response. My Final Post On The Subject...

<< I believe the embargo should be at least reviewed. >>

ok. I reviewed it....... The embargo should stay for the safety of the free world.

That was an expedient review, however,I was suggesting it be reviewed by Officials who might possibly give more thought to the many complexities with the hopes of re-evaluating the success or failure of the policy and decide if there is need or desire to reconsider at this time of heightened awareness of the Cuba Embargo.I personally don't consider this review a threat to the free world.

<< The world has changed quite a bit since this was put in place ... >>

Except for Cuba. The only thing that has changed in Cuba is that Castro no longer has the funds to send his murderous thugs around the world to murder innocent people. They now only murder innocent people in Cuba.

Maybe the lack of progress in Cuba is due to it's isolation brought on by the embargo itself, maybe not.If Castro wished to do as you suggest, wouldn't the free movement goods, people and information to and from this Island limit his ability to carry on these autocracies in secrecy?

<< ... and there may be ways of lessening the hardship for ordinary Cubans ... >>

Tell that to Castro, who has the power to lessen the hardship of his people, but doesn't. He has, however, lessened his own hardship. He is very wealthy, and his big gut makes it difficult for him to button his military pants.

I believe he has the power to do as he pleases pretty well at the moment within the confines of his shores, and I am sure he capitalises monetarily from his position. However,it is the lack of hard currency that has the people impoverished, hard currency that America has unequivocal control over as well as a policy that punishes other countries and companies that do business there. As far as his big gut, maybe you could send him a tummy tucker?<g>

<< ... without offering the opportunity for strengthening of the Dictatorship >>

Harry Houdini could not have said it better.

By this I assume you consider this an impossibility? Maybe that review might be worth while after all!

<< MR. CLINTON ---- TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!! >>

By providing funding for the Cuban terrorist regime, you would find Cuba once again exporting terrorism and bloodshed over that wall. Walls can keep peaceful, innocent people imprisoned, such as the wall Castro has built, blocking the freedom of his people. Walls can also keep mad dogs in, such as the "funding wall" built against Castro's terrorist regime.

A wall is a wall is a wall.It is a barrier to keep things in or keep things out..or both. Thus far it has kept suppression in and prosperity out for the average Cuban, and Castro is just " Another Brick In The Wall ". Maybe the little boy in this story will be the one that removes that fatal brick and his generation gets to see that wall crumble

You really want the wall to come down allowing Castro's terrorists to resume their worldwide mission of murder?

We have ways of dealing with terrorists without incarcerating an entire nation

<< Thank You For Reading. >>

Taurus553, tear down Castro's wall!

I would love nothing better, however,it is not Castro's wall to tear down,Robert,it is America's wall. And furthermore, how can you be so sure of something you have never tried...alone reviewed fully and openly.
