Is this important?

You Bet! Since Alcatel supplies a large portion of the infrastructure to the Bells, their equipment needs to be able to handle G.Lite to ensure its mass market appeal. This helps Aware indirectly by allowing G.Lite to be completely widespread, and also because the Fast Retrain Patent could drum up revenues for Aware from even Alcatel.

Any other thoughts or comments?

Rhythms asks PUCs in seven states to clarify line sharing issues
DSL provider Rhythms NetConnections Inc. of Englewood, Colo., says it has filed for arbitration in seven states asking the PUCs in those states to set line-sharing pricing and deployment plans. Rhythms wants each state to rule that the data portion of local loop should be provided at no charge by ILECs, since there are no additional costs to ILECs to provide voice services via the loops. Rhythms' petition also seeks guidance on various collocation issues.
