The local school boards are doing a pretty good job of determining what literature is representative and meets the standards set for accreditation. It's always a fight worth fighting at that level. I can't imagine what would happen if at the national level they determined that my kids are required to read the "Scarlet Letter" but not "Tale of Two Cities."
