Along with the storage drive - there has been a lot of hype about using packetized SCSI over IP over GE to build SANs, instead of the current fibre channel standard. It has been described as a way that the big networkers like Cisco could maintain dominance in the market place.

There are several technical problems with using SCSI over IP to storage, but in some articles I have read the authors have suggested "ethernet-IP disk drives".

Has anyone on the thread heard of any DD manufacturers making such a device? Has anyone heard of working SCSI over IP storage LANs writing to standard SCSI drives?

Thanks,

George D.
