SANTA CLARA, Calif., Apr 26, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Siliconix incorporated (NASDAQ NMS:SILI), a subsidiary of Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH), announced record quarterly net income of $26.7 million, or $0.90 per share, for the quarter ended April 2, 2000. This is an increase of 175% over the net income of $9.7 million, or $0.33 per share, in the first quarter of 1999 and 10% over the net income of $24.4 million, or $0.82 per share, in the fourth quarter of 1999. (All per share data have been adjusted to reflect the three-for-one stock split effective in February 2000.) Sales for the first quarter of 2000 were a record $114.5 million, 41% greater than the sales of $81.0 million for the first quarter of 1999 and 4% greater than the sales of $110.1 million for the fourth quarter of the previous year.
