You can continue arguing about who invented what, but what Microsoft did was a combination of good timing and good products. Everybody steals from everybody in software design. I still think that Windows 95 was the best product M¡crosoft ever made (in relation to what was available at that time), even if many parts of it were already made in other systems. Microsoft was never meant to be an innovator, it has always meant to be a "market grabbing" software company. You can only grab a market by appealing to most of the market. You don't do that by making an OS like BeOS or NextStep.
