I meant to point out that the thrust of the press release is that Sony is licensing technology from Psion, not the other way around.

To date Sony doesn't even make a handheld PC. Entering into the fray now against Palm and Pocket PC (and Psion for that matter) seems like a lost cause. Psion itself is struggling in the handheld competition, except in England.

I am very skeptical of Sony's ability to force Memory Stick down the throat of digital camera users, to infect the youth of the world with ANTHRAX3 compliant digital music devices, and to build a popular brand of Schtick-based handheld devices in an already crowded arena.

Throw on top of that a licensing agreement with, of all companies, Lexar Media to produce Memory Stick and you start how weak the foundation of Sony's digital offerings truly is.
