In one post GG says:Message 13502889 I do not buy shares, or accept shares in companies that I put on the list. Period. And in another he says:Message 13502817 Occasionally I mention a company that I happen to hold. As a policy, I never sell, though I occasionally make donations of stock to charities. I own five or six companies on the telecosm list, as I have repeatedly disclosed. My biggest holding is Applied Materials, which I have held for around 20 years. I have held Qualcomm for seven years or so. I have relatively large holdings of Global Crossing, Atmel, and Conexant. I do not buy anywhere around the time of my letter; the usual span is months, and I rarely buy or sell at all. I do not receive any other compensation related to my companies. I have been on the board of Wave Systems for close to a decade and hold options there. The vast bulk of my wealth is in my own company and it will continue to thrive only as long as people believe that I am objective. These posts were written ten minutes apart. Based on what they say, how am I to know if he does or does not own shares in companies on his list? Either the man doesn't know what he holds, has Alzheimers, or is equivocating. When he says, "The vast bulk of my wealth is in my own company," he may be indicating his company is separate from what he buys and sells as an individual, in which case I'd like to know what his company holds, the timing of its acquisitions, and the relationships, if any, it develops with these companies. With all due respect, I don't think you get the point. Peoples' reputations are ruined all the time by those who spread lies and false rumors. You do not have the right to do this. It's why slander and libel laws were invented. Yes, I do get the point. And I would respond by asking which is more honorable, to lie about companies you publicly recommend or to question the verity of the person making false claims? As for libel, I certainly hope posting second-hand information doesn't qualify. But if it does, I have nothing to hide and GG certainly has the right to sue. Pat
