Your analysis is right on. Clearly AMZN is not acheiving the operating leverage they claim. THe interesting point to now obeserve is that as they continue to further expand their customer base, can some additional scale economies then be translated into operating margin. I sense that this may not be possible.

What are your thoughts?

Not trying to bash, don't pretend to understand AMZN, but do understand retail. The trend
numbers in the core business don't make much sense. This horseman looks a bit lame.

I have not had a chance to get to the conference call. Been very busy with my own job. However, I wonder if they stated the book business was profitable. I will look.

PS. I love the college you attended as does my son who attended it too.
