The article incorrectly points out that MSFT is down in afterhours trading.

<< Microsoft's stock was down 1 3/8 at 68 in after-hours trading on Wednesday. >>

This is actually incorrect. The stock closed at 68 and seems to be up slightly in afterhours trading. Last reported bid on island is 68 1/8.

It looks like a breakup proposal might be already factored into the stock price (not the breakup itself, but the breakup proposal). This article that seems to solidly confirm that a breakup proposal will be submitted Friday, hasn't hurt the stock. It was published after the close of the market, but the stock is higher.

Dear SC

"Message #43584 from SC at Apr 26, 2000 8:12 PM ET
Calm down. A federal judge is appointed for life, so I can assure you that he is no ones puppet..."

Says you! Calm down? Why, I enjoy having a life's 401(k) cut in half?

jj is no judge in my opinion. He is the prosecutor, jury, and executioner with very myopic, tunnel vision.

If you've ever been involved in court proceedings you know,
sometime you get a good one, sometimes you get a bad one,
sometimes you get a puppet. jj is a puppet and soon will get his wooden head handed back to him.

Today I spoke with a participant in the trial. He told me that JJ was asleep at least some of the time. He asked one of the attorneys about that and the attorney told him that JJ would "read the trasncripts" later. What a bunch of garbage.
