Most excellent post Al...

re " Q will get the equivalent of the pre-95 IPR royalty rates (like NOK and MOT have on IS-95) on DS until those
fundamental patents expire,
"

I disagree. Although the royalty argument has be done to death on these threads, it is still true that the Asian companies simply hate to pay the royalty. Jacobs saying the rate is fair is neither here or there (what else does one expect him to say?).

IMO expect a real cat fight in the courts as NOK/IDC, ERICY, Samsung et al attempt to show how their DS solutions dont infringe QCOM IPR.

I see that you and Molloy are both full of the same misinformation. I find it funny that people like you, Tero, and Molloy are still so negative about the future of CDMA when every standards body has identified CDMA as the air interface for 3G solutions. Right now in Europe, CDMA is being identified as technology for 450 Mhz systems. Also, UMTS based systems will be deploying CDMA as well. This information is coming from LU as well as QCOM.

As I said to Molloy the other day, "Get a life!!"
