Ron: All excellent points indeed. But the US has a problem or two -- lets not gloss over that. We are seeing p/e's compressed, some steam is coming out of the market. And the trade and current account deficits have gone as far as they can go without causing problems. Americans are going to have to learn to save money and balance these accounts or all the things you say are going to come undone.

Yes it takes others a great deal of time to realize how wonderful debt is. We are very efficient at knowing where we can get the least expensive labor.

From what i have read Japan invested one huge sum into modernizing and bringing things up to par tech wise.

What we have been doing for one hundred years is importing highly intelligent people from other nations and growing due to our land mass.
