True. They are in favor of these expanded INS powers as long as they aren't used against interests who give them money like the Cuban exiles. I don't see any of these Republican Senators weeping for the poor Mexicans or Chinese illegals who are abused by the INS's sweeping powers.

I cringe at the thought of a George Bush Jr. appointed Supreme Court. Could you imagine what would happen to our civil liberties if we had 3 or 4 more Justice Scalias on the Supreme Court? Scary thought! The police would really gain a great deal of power under that kind of court.
