Agreed, they haven't bought mature companies. I'm not sure I'd classify TKLC as a "mature" company, but, that's beside the point. More importantly, given CSCO's astronomical PE and the difficulty of continuing to grow a company the size of CSCO(at rate that can support that PE)I feel that is going to change. I think CSCO will take a very hard look at any company that fits their product/market mix well and is growing revenues and profits as fast or faster than CSCO.

Good point, Bernard. For obvious reasons, many think that CSCO has an insatiable appetite for any company that may appear in the somewhat broad space CSCO finds itself going forward. I don't think it really works like that.

I am sure that CSCO "considers" many companies that offer it something, but I am sure it has a long checklist that it goes through before any company is seriously considered a candidate for acquisition. I am sure that corporate culture is one that is on the top of John Chambers' list. While maturity of a company is an issue, I don't think it would necessarily preclude serious consideration. More importantly, I think CSCO will weigh the particular technology or skill set the company & its employees offer and how it may fit it CSCO's particularly plans going forward. Nevertheless, I agree that TKLC is not a company that CSCO would be seriously interested in.
