CAM reports. Some interesting remarks on subsea work.

Erikson said that the increase in Cameron's revenues from the fourth quarter to the first provides further confirmation that Cameron's business bottomed during 1999 and is beginning to benefit from recovering energy markets. ``In particular, Cameron's Western Hemisphere activity-which generally reflects shorter cycle, quick-turn business-posted healthy increases during the quarter,'' Erikson said. ``Oil and natural gas prices should fuel continued growth in North American exploration and production spending, with international markets currently expected to rebound during the second half of 2000. We are particularly encouraged by the current level of subsea bidding activity, which is the highest we've ever seen,'' he said. ``As a recovery unfolds, we expect Cameron to reap increasing benefits from the extensive productivity improvement and cost reduction measures initiated during the previous cycle.''
