EMC's software
Oh, I agree with all you say. That's why EMC is my second largest position (in value) and I consider it a core component of my portfolio. I just see the NT class servers (the "industry standard servers" as they like to call them) as nibbling away like a herd of ducks. EMC will ultimately respond by making their software and storage fully compatible with those servers if they aren't already. Dell's pretty neutral about what software they run, maybe it will be linux class servers. It just won't be affordable for anyone else to put the IRON together and they will become more pure software companies.
