. . . . Rolling with the punches. . . .

I don't know, Julie. . . we are on course for closing above 3700 today. . .which would trigger a load of technical buying. . .plus. . .the money flow of volume buying is nice on techs. . .led by the incredible volume trades on AWE.

I still have my Dow stocks [mostly tech] and some value plays as a hedge. . .but in the tech sector, instead of having 40 or 50 tech stocks in every possible area. . . I have half as many. . . made up of only the finest Nasdaq blue chip tech stocks. . . from areas I expect the most play. . .and from those that frequent the most volatile list. . . this has been working quite well. . . leading to gains beyond the index averages. . .though I must be quick to trade when things sour, as this group will fall fastest as well.

The way I see it. . . if I stay with the biggest percentage gainers. . . then if the tech market finds its legs. . . I can always spread out the money later. . .and not really "miss" any moves on stocks I really want to own. . . since already gaining MORE on the volatiles. And if it doesn't find its legs, then I've succeeded in making the best plays I could while the fun lasted.

I guess I am adjusting my strategy as the markets tread on unexplored territory. I don't have much faith in a bull run in techs here. . . but then look at it this way. . . in December, everyone was convinced that we would dump into Y2K. . .then rally in January. . . and exactly the opposite happened. . . . we rallied straight into Y2K, then dumped really hard on the first day of the year. . . .. . then soared again in February/March. . . and dumped again in March/April. . .now as we head into May. . . we need to throw away our history. . .because these markets are re-writing history now more often than following historical patterns.

So we must stay light on our feet . . . and change our colors like the chameleon. . . and be quick to move in and out. . . and profit often. . .until things get more clear as to what really is down the road.
