strategy: long QCOM, short AWE
cannot be done for another 30 days
will be plenty of shares & liquidity later for shorting
really serious here
both QCOM and AWE would move down together amidst wireless sector hits
then Q leaves AWE in the dust as wireless data arrives
meanwhile AWE will wither with zero wireless data participation

its death is not a certainty, but its withering on the wireless vine is a foregone conclusion
I hated to see ATT employees excited, lining up for purchase
minimum 100 share lots
sad to see
ATT kept all the less intelligent among their workforce though with BellLabs split

my former fatherinlaw and former oldest brotherinlaw work for Lucent now
they were elated to join Lucent and not ATT
really controversial conflict back then on Lucent stock options unavailable to ATT folks
the ATT folks now have their AWE stock, sad
