UMC Announces Technology Forum 2000
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2000--UMC announced today that the UMC Technology Forum 2000 will be held on Friday, May 12, 2000, at the Santa Clara Westin Hotel. A major annual event for the company, UMC invites its current and future customers to a full day of in-depth and informative sessions regarding its industry-leading silicon foundry technology and services. Over 1000 customers representing more than 250 semiconductor companies attended last year's event.

During the day, attendees will hear speeches from renowned industry experts and learn about technological developments at UMC including: 0.18-, 0.15-, and 0.13-micron process developments; UMC's WorldLogic(TM) 0.13- and 0.10-micron logic and eDRAM technologies being developed in conjunction with IBM and Infineon Technologies; UMC's SOC solutions including embedded memories, silicon-verified IP blocks (Gold IP(TM)), and ASICplus(TM) program, which offers the expertise of 600 design engineers; and specialty areas including RF CMOS and mixed-signal processes. UMC will describe its new ``e-Service'' program for direct B2B e-Commerce with UMC customers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with 40 different Intellectual Property (IP), EDA, assembly/test, and ASICplus partners at an exhibition/reception in the afternoon.
