Gilder & Smartypts: I will say this. If Mr. Gilder is
charging $300 for a newsletter I would resent it very
strongly if he gives this information to his "Whales"
long before the ordinary subscriber gets this information.
The ethics are this: why is the "Whale" getting this
information before the paid subscribers? It would appear
that Mr. Gilder should not tell anyone about company's
which he is highlighting in upcoming newsletters or at
least he could be more discreet about such. Basicaly, he's
given this Gilder et al a free pop that none of the
subscribers (from whom he makes exhorbitant subscription
fees) were privileged to receive.

Hello Smartypts,

I believe that George answered your question directly ... I thought that he stated that he had talked with someone at that company before publishing his newsletter ...

I'll be the first to say that if George Gilder mentioned that he had done some looking at a cool new high-tech company ... I would buy also!

Both years that I have attended Telecosm, I have bought stocks that were discussed ... long before they showed up in his newsletter. Uniphase was one of the first ... two+ years ago it was talked about in a couple of presentations before he wrote about it ...

This is what is unique about being deeply involved in the technological research organizations ... you can see the higher-level trends, then look for the companies pursuing them! ;-)
