1) If you are using a proxy server, that proxy server may keep around a stale copy

It is my home computer..no proxy server

2) Your browser may be buggy. This is not meant to be a cop out, I get all kinds of wacky behavior from my IE at home. Most of it odd, but fairly benign.

I have never had a browser that wasn't buggy.

The problem seems to be related to the way I read some threads. Reading 10 at a time...I get to the end of a frequently read thread I just minimize the browser window.

When I return to the thread/browser window hours later I click on the last post number to take me to the individual post such that the NEXT or VIEW 10 AT A TIME becomes an option. Then I continue reading the thread to the end again and minimize and continue later as above.

I believe these are the threads that the SubjectMark page reports unread posts that I have indeed read.
