You are ignoring that in cuba Elian will be property of the state and that he will not be with his father. Juan Miguel knows this. You do also. And as I posted last night: One key point seems to be can a 6-year-old ask for asylum? Does he have the faculties to know why to ask for asylum? My answer, he can and does know "good" and "bad." Lazaro "good." Cuba "bad." He cannot yet in legal or political terms articulate why "good" or "bad" but as some politicians say, "I can't define pornography but I know it when I see it."
