To Thread:

I have been following the EMC thread for some time now. Recently, the threads optimism has surged due to comments made by their executives. Specifically, they claim that the server (not client server) is going to become a commodity product. Anyone have any thoughts?

Lastly, recent reports have surfaced that speculate that data storage will take up to 80% of IT spending vs. 20% for servers.

I believe that SUNW will dominate the server space for the internet and that they will give EMC a run for their money in the storage market. I just want to make sure that I am envisioning things from all angles.

Thanks, Bob.

haha. You folks seem to believe you can guide the elephant (government) in, have it step on the barking dog (MSFT), and quietly guide the elephant back out. Soooo neat and tidy.

Wrong! Once the elephant is invited in, it won't leave.
