Les, this is a complete different story. In the GE case the MANAGEMENT WANTED MORE MONEY not the employees.

Some retirees and workers say the company's pension plan for regular employees is meager when compared to the benefits offered to the Board of Directors.

Carrie J. Biggs-Adams, an editor at GE subsidiary NBC who spoke in favor of the union proposal, said the vote is an improvement from last year, when it received only 29 percent support.

IMHO Scam bags will always remain scam bags. The pension benefits to regular employees at GE are peanuts relative to management. This is just an additional example of smoke in your eyes type of press release. Did you notice no mentioning of dollar amounts ???? That is the issue!!!!
