Commenting on the results, Bruce R. Gardner, Datawatch's President & CEO said: ``We are encouraged to see continuing improvement in our performance. Sales increased year over year and sequentially, and losses have been brought down to levels which produce profits on an EBITDA basis. During the quarter we introduced two important new products: Monarch/ES Report Portal, a thin- client version of our highly-acclaimed Enterprise Reporting product, and Monarch Version 5, an improved release of our popular report mining tool. The sequential increase in revenues, the expense reductions enacted over the past year and these new product introductions lead us to believe that Datawatch is well positioned for continuing improvement in the months ahead.''
