Our way of presenting history in schools is a national disgrace, and, IMO, is largely responsible for our problems in relating to the rest of the world.

I didn't say that schools don't indoctrinate, I said that a core literature curriculum which was selected to reflect a wide variety of thought and perspective would not be indoctrination.

I'm not convinced that forcing most students to read the kind of things we're talking about would do much good. In most cases, I doubt that much of it would register.
