Regardless of whether they give any of those reasons or just say "for general corporate purposes", I disagree wholeheartedly with your conclusion. As I've said over & over, there are two modes in business, growth & liquidation. (5) would be merely a symptom of the former. I'll take an AMD secondary offering (above $100 of course) over Intel's stock repos any day. See my posting on NVLS's recent offering. (By the way, Novellus sold shares last year, too, and look at them now!)
