... AND Castro, AND Clinton, AND Reno, AND the woman who started it all when she left Cuba with her kid.

So what?

I don't see many involved who haven't tried to benefit themselves one way or another, except maybe the kid. Since we now feel it is OK to settle everything with a SWAT Team, including kid grabbing, maybe this was the way it should be.

But, I don't think so.

If you think the whole situation is solely the responsibility of "the family" (Horrors! They're Republicans!) and people like me that you call "Right Wing Zealots," you need to reassess your outlook on life in general and intrepretation of the Constitution in particular.

You call yourself lawdog and you seem to write well, but it looks pretty clear to me that you are more involved in the entire situation emotionally, rather than rationally.

Unless of course, you are like one of the Castro apologists I saw on some talk show that was trying to convince us that life in Cuba is vastly superior to life in this country. If you in fact think that Elian is going to a better life in Cuba, then I don't know how to continue the conversation; our frames of reference are just too far apart.
