I don't suppose we could get you to add IMHO to your proclamations?

I suspect that the "H" would be out of place.

(No typos there. I checked. Twice.)

>the smell, the touch, the sight of our children<
the fabric of our lives.

I was sitting this evening with Helen, and she points to her bare foot and declared "Owies." I asked her to show me the owies. (A few weeks earlier she asked for a bunny at night time, and I couldn't find it, so I said the first thing that came to mind. "Show me the bunny." Duh.)
With a certain gravity she ran her fingertip across her curled sole, showing me how her skin buckled into creases.
"Those aren't owies Helen - they're creases."
"Creases", she repeats tentatively.
"Yes, creases in your foot are OK. They belong there."

An hour later she walks up to her mommy who's busy performing Basic Operating Fluid Fill/Drain on the Thomasaur, and proclaims
"I need creases."

When I feel humble...I'll happily oblige-

Please tell/show me exactly where I expressed that I thought YOU were 'exploitative' regarding you and yours, Rambi ...really.

"I accept that YOU think I was exploitative when I took baths with CW and Ammo..."

I do not recall ever saying that I thought you were being 'exploitative'...<?!>

And furthermoreishly, I did not 'think' that:

"...Michael sexually abused his 7 month old daughter when he took her into a tepid bath to lower her fever."

I thought it was either BS or bait, which I took...oh well.

I also 'think' that most people remain in a guilt-based denial about how they treat their children, wether they have reason to 'feel' guilt or not...its part of our culture and we will continue to see the results of 'not so great' parenting behaviors.

As far as the 'kid smells' go...I never stated that I had a 'problem' with that...!!

In fact, I called up my own Mommy to check and see if I had a good smell...and if She was 'deeply moved' by it...
Well, She was...She said that She 'fell in love' with me whilst I was still in utero...the 'flutterings' of Life...I guess the smells are just the 'icing on the baby cakes'...I had no 'problem' with the idea of Mother/Child smell bonding...

"But you really need to understand that not all physical manifestations between parents and children are
fraught with evil and abuse."

Of course I know that...!

"Frankly, I'm not sure you are capable, for whatever reasons, of distinguishing healthy from not."

I don't think its a matter of 'healthy or unhealthy'.

Its a matter of CONTEXT, intention and respect.

Rambi, when you see this on any post of mine..."WAISM", know that it means, "Why am I so misunderstood?".

BTW, is a person really being humble when they call themselves, "humble"...?

[I know, "Don't Ask Rambi"]
