Castro Praises U.S. Media Cuban President Fidel Castro has declared that the case of Elian Gonzalez "is a lesson," and that in the future communist Cuba will actively seek to mold public opinion in the United States, according to official Cuban sources. Send in a Capo One day after Elian's (6 ) new playmate (10 yrs ) shows up, Elian says he wants to go back to cuba. Also, the court said that NO cuban officials would be allowed to get near Elian, but they have. Elian's statement was made to his father and Cuban officials at Wry. The Texas prison system use to use "capos" to keep other prisoners in line. A Federal court ruled this to be illegal. How can this happen? From today's Wallstreet journal. "With Nixon's election, the Libeals were freed of any political restraint. As early as 1969, only 40 US Senators would sign a resolution condeming Hanoi for brutality towards our prisoners of war." Would such people worry about Elian? No.
