Interesting piece on the INS version of the rescue of Elian on CNBC a few moments ago. The INS stopped at the door and identified themselves as INS. They requested Elian. They would not open the door. They blockaded the door with a couch. They were at the door for 20 seconds by the time they could force entry. It was 55 seconds from entry to rescue to exiting the door again with Elian. The woman agent who carried Elian out was thrown to the ground attempting to go in. She has subsequently received death threats for her role. The agent seen prominently pointing his gun at the House Cleaner who was trying to hide Elian in the closet had both his finger off the trigger and his safety latch on to avoid any accidental mishaps. On the face of it the video of the raid and the pictures taken inside the house support this story. IMO of course.
