Well from my readings one of SUNW's major marketing initiatives is the storage market so it certainly is not a lock by EMC. Also, remember the SUNW philosophy, i.e. systems integration. One of their true marketing advantages over other vendors is their ability to tightly integrate CPU, storage, OS, software, etc to get optimum performance. Of course SUNW needs to stay up on the learning curve to do this otherwise it splinters. I'd much rather be at the SUNW layer (above) than at the EMC layer (below). Of course it is a natural marketing approach for EMC to try and spin their way to a higher layer. The fact is they are far from being there. This spin does, however, highlight the fact that SUNW should be pursuing this market even more vigorously.
