Another argument against a rate increase is the extreme weakness of the Euro. Another rate increase here would devastate European economy and also put American products at a competitive disadvantage as Euro weakens further. (IMHO)

I agree. I keep hoping that Greenspan is as smart as I think he is - smart enough not to let a bubble stock market factor too much into his decision making. I know the wealth effect needs to be considered, but rate hikes are a blunt instrument. Not very good for surgical strikes.
