Here are two other responsible residents of Miami.: (Now Former) City Manager Donald Warshaw and City Commissioner Johnny Winton, who supports both O'Brien and Warshaw, said: "We have a mayor running around here pouring fuel on the fire instead of providing leadership to our community. It's a very, very sad statement for all of the citizens of our community." .....Warshaw, who preceded O'Brien as chief, shook his head with a look of disgust as Carollo spoke. "This is a painful thing to watch, obviously," Warshaw said afterwards. "I'm sad for all that's happening in our city. Please be calm, the eyes of the world are watching us." msnbc.com Warshaw (who has a reputation beyond reproach) is correct. Carollo has soiled the mayor's office and removed little doubt in the "eyes of the world" that he is an petty demagogue. Apparently, the mayor's complaint with the raid (like so many of the gun-nut militia-loving righties on this thread) is that no blood was spilled. Carollo appears to be incensed that the Miami Police Force did not offer armed resistance and is looking to fire everyone on the force who kept his gun holstered. Unlike Ruby Ridge and Waco, the extremists didn't get a chance to murder a federal officer or four. Let the braying from the right continue! The polls reveal that the reactionary wackos are just continuing to isolate themselves from the mainstream of America. You see, out in the real world, among the vast majority of US citzens, justice, morality and family values were served by the INS raid called Operation Reunion Oh look, another gun-nut rightie on the loose...http://www.msnbc.com/news/401029.asp You'd be right to guess that not one crocodile tear for his victims will be shed among SI's right-wing posters and all other apologists for Aryan causes.
