In Europe, startups are almost unheard of because of the very restrictive labor and stock laws.

Scumbia,

Don't fool yourself, things are changing very fast here the last years. The amount of start-ups and spinn-offs(from universities) is incredible right now. While a few years ago, graduates in engineering and economics saw it as there goal to start working for a big company, nowdays it's hip to do a start-up.

Last week I spoke to a manager of a 3 year old spinn-off. He said it was almost impossible 3 years ago to find venture capital, now they have to throw them out of the door every week.

I don't know the situation in Italy and France, but I do know that in Benelux, England and Scandinavia this is booming. Especially Scandinavia is red hot in telecomunications and wireless applications.

It is not like Silicon Valley, but the rest of the US is also not like SV.

Greetings,

Bert
