Scumbria,

Wouldn't it be great if there was more than one company making a Window's compatible operating system?

It might actually work!

Are you referring to Sun CEO's suggestion of breaking MSFT in 2 and give each one all the products from MSFT portfolio to compete against each other?

Joe

Scumbria,
That's a tough one...
I choices as much as anyone. OTOH...I'm not sure that two companies making "windows" is the answer. All I see is incompatibility, more hair pulling etc. Hardware cos. have enough problems making one set of drivers. Developing for one standard has some advantages.
OTOH, you can always use Linux, BeOS, OS2 or a MacIntosh.

I will say Microsoft has done some predatory stuff in the past. SO have a lot of other companies and government for that matter.
This could be remedied. Trouble is that the way the judicial system works, you can't admit anything lest you open yourself up for more lawsuits...er money grabs.
