Frustrating isn't the word for it! I guess you can call that one the 5 mill 'hindsight'. I was nervous about getting involved in options so I procrastinated. My broker didn't help matters much either by dragging their feet once the app was in. Next time when I know I need to learn/do something.. I need to get on it faster. My first 'dabble' into options went well though! What is a real brain twister though is trying to work in the decreasing value due to the time factor. What your options will be approx. worth with your stock at 'x' price now.. 'x' price a month from now and 'x' price 2 months from now is beyond me. My only recourse right now is to pick options the same way I pick stocks. Look for the best value knowing the companies as well as possible and predicting, as best I can, what the company will be worth 'x' amount of time from now. I then buy a call for what I would be 'ok' with selling my stock for on that expiration date. When I've made a return I am happy with (50% in some cases - 3x in others) I am selling the call and not taking any chances on the time factor (yes... I'm a chicken.. <g>). I am afraid my option trading is in it's kindergarten stage compared to everyone else here.
